With zero-waste living gaining traction in the local community, owner William Lane opened an eco retail concept store in Happy Valley in 2019. Ekologic started out as an eco-wood furniture and homeware store in Tasmania, Australia and was brought to Hong Kong in 2019 offering locally sourced produce and bulk foods in partnership with Slowood. Edible and decomposable, Ekologic’s natural pasta straws are great alternatives to usual plastic straws. Want to treat your pet well? You can also find cruelty-free and plant-based dog treats by Rascals at the shop.

The Bulk Shop

Tucked away inside a modest neighbourhood shopping mall, The Bulk Shop is founded earlier this year by two friends who live in Tai Po. Margot and Ella started their business to make zero-waste products more accessible to local residents. From spices and grains to shampoo bars and detergents, The Bulk Shop offers a wide range of home goods and daily necessities to help you cut down on waste. Supporting local retailers, the shop also sells handcrafted sourdough bread from Mayse in Tai Mei Tuk and aromatic coffee beans by local coffee roaster Dr. Sutton’s.
