Hong Kong Island

Sheung Wan

Sheung Wan sits between Central and the western edge of the island, old enough to still have herbal medicine shops and dried seafood stores on the street, with newer restaurants opening around them most years. It was one of the first areas the British settled in Hong Kong, and it still carries some of that older character, dried goods and herbal medicine stores a few doors from newer cafes and galleries. It’s a five to fifteen minute walk to Central, with trams running the same route, and Soho and Lan Kwai Fong close by.
