We have rented serviced apartments directly to people living in Hong Kong since 2013. Six districts, one month minimum, no agency fee, and the same small team from the first message to the last day of your lease.
Most of what is on offer in this city sits at one of two extremes. A hotel with a kitchenette at a hotel price, or an empty flat you have to furnish, wire and clean yourself. Tane Residence was built in the gap between the two.
Why we exist
A flat to live in, not a room to pass through
Tane Residence is run by people who have spent years in Hong Kong property and a good deal of time living out of other people’s apartments. That combination is the whole idea behind the company. It tells you which corners can be cut and which ones cannot.
Standing out in Hong Kong’s crowded serviced apartment market is hard, so we stopped competing on the things guests never use and started competing on the things they use every day. A bed worth sleeping in. Internet that works on the first evening. Someone who answers when the air conditioning does not.
We have developed a portfolio of intimate, affordable serviced apartments in Hong Kong that skimps on nothing, except the price. And we add to that a level of personal attention that is second to none. Nothing is too difficult or too troublesome for us.
Our tenants are people relocating, people here on assignment, people between leases and people who need more room than a hotel gives for a month or six. They rent from us directly, which is why there is no agency fee to pay.

The small print
Arriving, leaving, and changing your mind
Check-in and check-out
On confirmation of your booking we email you the access codes and an instruction guide, so you can let yourself into the property without arranging to meet anyone.
At check-out you can be present for the room inspection with a member of staff, or hand back the flat and take the updates in real time over WhatsApp or email. Either works.
Cancellation policy
- Notice of cancellation, for whatever reason, must be given in writing.
- Tane Residence is not responsible for cancellations, changes of date or the postponement of a trip for any reason, including health, professional and personal reasons.
- If you cancel after signing the lease, or end the lease before the end of its term, the deposit is not refunded.
