With the sad news that Stone Nullah Tavern in Wan Chai will be closing its doors on 27 January, comes with it word of a brand new restaurant. Still operated by Red Sauce Hospitality, the newly launched Fini’s (set to open on 1 February) will serve up a new wave of Italian-American favorites. The menu is set to include classics such as New York-style pizza, Fried Calamari (served with ‘nduja-laced marinara), Eggplant Parmigiana Supreme and a range of pasta dishes (all priced at $88). Along with the unveiling of Fini’s in Wan Chai, SoHo favourite Linguini Fini is getting a makeover too. Complete with a revamped back patio and an updated façade, it will also go under the new name of Fini’s.

Special Menus and Offers
Whether you’re already following a plant-based diet, or are cutting down on your meat intake this year then the new “Green Mondays” set at Three Blind Mice is for you! The three-course plant-based set is available every Monday from 5pm until close and will be priced at $218. The menu will change regularly, but diners can expect items such as BBQ Pulled Jackfruit Bao, Impossible Spaghetti Bolognese, Vegetable and Tofu Thai Green Curry with rice, and a Mango and Coconut Rice Pudding for dessert. Add on two-hours of free-flow beer, wine, prosecco and spirits for $198.

We have loved The Flying Elk since it opened last summer (even naming it as one of our favourite openings of 2018!) , and now it is bringing us a brand-new menu. New additions to the restaurant’s a la carte offerings include Foie Gras and Chicken Liver Parfait, Veal Schnitzel “Björn Frantzén”, along with the indulgent Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. As well as these new dishes, The Flying Elk is also now offering up a tasting menu, priced at $595 per person, and including six of the restaurant’s most-loved snacks and dishes. Diners can also add an optional wine pairing of four wines selected by The Flying Elk’s Sommelier for an additional $365 per person.

For one night only, on Tuesday, 29 January, Michelin-starred Chef Anita Lo will be taking over the Ho Lee Fook kitchen. Known for New York restaurants Annisa and Rickshaw, along with books Cooking Without Borders and Solo, Chef Lo will be bringing her passion for multicultural flavours and recipes to the kitchen, with dishes inspired by stories of her life and travels. Priced at $788 per person, the special five-course menu will feature dishes such as Foie Gras Soup Dumpling, Beef Tongue and Cheek with Tokyo Turnips and Chinese Mustard, and Strawberry Tofu Custard with Shiso and Yuzu for dessert. Tokyolima is bringing us an array of new dishes, all inspired by Executive Chef Arturo Melendez’s exotic travels throughout South America and Asia. The new Memories collection is available now and includes highlights such as the Salmon & Glaze ($250), along with the Secreto of TokyoLima ($280), which features Iberico pork that has been slow cooked for twelve hours. The collection is topped off with a new sweet treat in the form of the Free 4 You ($90), which consists of orange and almond gluten-free cake served with orange jam and a generous portion of Latin America’s delicious interpretation of dulce de leche, manjar blanco.

Lunch and Brunch Specials
Dog owners, this one’s for you! Wan Chai favourite, Bread & Beast has just launched a brand new brunch that not only includes a range of all new dishes, but that is also completely furry-friend friendly. The new brunch is available on Saturdays from 10am to 3pm and on Sundays from 10am to 4:30pm, with dishes that include tempting offerings such as Chuhao Brisket Croissant ($158), Bourbon Caramel Banana Ricotta French Toast ($118) and the Kentucky San Burger ($148), along with the slightly lighter options that include the Good Morning Sunshine! ($138), with sweet potato, poached eggs, smashed avocado coconut yoghurt, and the Buddha Bowl ($138), which has slices of grilled tofu, roasted cauliflower rice, poached egg, smashed avocado, pickled ginger and carrots, ginger preserved lemon, chipotle yoghurt and baby basil.

Another new brunch comes to us from Fishsteria Waterside. Offering an array of breakfast classics intertwined with fresh, sustainably-sourced seafood, the new menu features the signature Fishsteria All Day Breakfast ($258), which is piled with seafood, including a luxurious fresh crab omelette, grilled salmon and shrimp, with sides of spinach, tomato, and roasted potatoes – perfect for seafood lovers. Diners can also go all out with the Salmon Charcoal Burger ($138) and Pancakes ($128) with berries and a homemade vanilla whipping cream, or go for the lighter Greek Yoghurt Granola & Honey ($178). Brunch is available now on weekends from 11am to 4pm.

Yardbird‘s Guest Chef Series – Paul Carmichael X Matt Abergel
On Monday, 28 January the city’s favouite izakaya, Yardbird, will be kicking off its new guest chef series, Jerky Boyz, with Chef Paul Carmichael. Born and raised in Barbados, Paul has worked in kitchens across the world and is currently the Executive Chef of Momofuku Seiōbo in Sydney. For one night only, Yardbird’s own Matt Abergel and Paul will be replacing the regular Yardbird menu with a family-style set menu that’s inspired by Caribbean food, drinks, and culture (including jerk chicken, of course!). Priced at $420 per person for the set menu (excluding drinks), be sure to get down early for when doors open at 6pm to get your table!
