Red Sugar: Kerry Hotel’s Rooftop Bar Just Got a Cocktail Upgrade
Kerry Hotel’s new head mixologist, Nikita Matveev, has created Hong Kong inspired cocktails with a fusion of flavours.
Whether you have visitors in town, are celebrating a special occasion, or are just toasting to the weekend, there’s always time for a cocktail. With so many bars popping up around town, it can be tricky finding your next go-to celebration spot. Looking for a first-class experience? Red Sugar at Kerry Hotel has some exciting new drinks on the horizon, and they won’t disappoint.
With a unique rooftop terrace away from the crowds of Hong Kong (featuring a 270 degree wrap around terrace), Red Sugar has been a favourite of ours from the opening. In fact, Kerry Hotel has quickly become one of our most visited hotels in Hong Kong, and all it takes is one visit to see why. With a great location along the Kowloon harbour, impeccable service and top quality food, this urban resort ticks all the boxes.
So, if you’re on the hunt for a chilled place for booze and views, you’ll be keen to know the new head mixologist, Nikita Matveev, has arrived at Kerry Hotel, and there’s a new menu of decadent cocktails to celebrate his arrival. Nikita is an expert in all things cocktails, and prides himself in creating playful presentations, with attention to details and service.
The best bit? The new cocktail menu is inspired by the city itself and promises to take guests on a sensory journey with each sip! We won’t give away too many details but you can be sure to find one-of-a-kind cocktails, all assigned to a different sentiment, working to evoke a certain memory or emotion. Nikita specifically put together the ingredients to conjure up fond times in the 852. And if you’re taking visiting guests along with you, it’s the ideal way for them to create new memories in this place we call home.
Two of our favourite cocktails include “Pride” an exotic twist of flavours with an Asian influence, including Red Dragon Fruit and Yuzu; and “Love”, a sweet and tangy mixture of mango, passionfruit, bourbon and orange flower. With a total of 11 new cocktails and 3 new mocktails, you won’t be leaving thirsty. And, as a special treat for all the G&T drinkers out there, there’s also an entire section on different types of gin, with accompanying tonics and unique garnishes to choose from. The new menu has just become available and (thankfully!) it’ll be a permanent fixture on the menu from now on.
With an unblocked view of Victoria Harbour, an al fresco dining option and a super chilled vibe, you’ll find us at Red Sugar, lounging on plush sofas, unwinding with an exciting cocktail in hand. What more could we ask for?
