Hong Kong is a shopper’s paradise with everything you need at every price point, from international luxury brands down to vintage and thrift stores. If you love hunting for a bargain, we suggest heading outside the city centre, where some of the best outlet malls offer heavy discounts on your favourite labels. These stores are easy on the wallet but will still scratch that shopping itch – and here are our favourites.

China Hong Kong City

Ask an expat where to buy furniture in Hong Kong, and eight out of ten times they will reply with Horizon Plaza. This 25-storey shopping complex in Ap Lei Chau is known for its furniture and home accessories stores, but also covers an extensive range of fashion brands such as Armani, Chloé and Ralph Lauren. Discounts start from 30 percent off and go up to 80 percent off, so remember to sift through the racks to find your deal.

Camel Paint Building

As a major industrial area with relatively cheaper square footage, Kwun Tong is home to many outlet stores. Although less glamorous than the usual roster of prestigious malls like IFC and Pacific Place, a visit Camel Paint Building is well worth your time, especially if you’re after sporting goods. Enter the small alley between the Block 1 and Block 2 to reach a small stretch of stores offering deals on brands including Initial, Adidas, Nike and New Balance.

Prada Outlet Store

Right outside MTR South Horizons Station stands one of the two official Prada outlet stores in Hong Kong (the other can be found in Kwai Hing). Inside, you’ll find handbags, accessories and clothing by both Prada and its sister brand Miu Miu. Discounts vary by items and season, but are typically about 50 percent cheaper than original prices, so you can shop without (too much) guilt.
